Welcome to The Creative Series
I’m Kat, the creator of this collaborative space, The Creative Series. My purpose for this website was to establish a community of like-minded creatives, while showcasing talent from all over the world. Far too often in the Travel and Photography space, there is a level of competition, that really isn’t needed. It can destroy our passion to create and I want this space to inspire you to dream big, create often and explore all possibilities this world has to offer.
Photography can be an incredible opportunity to share your view of the world. I hope you find, The Creative Series website to offer stories of hope, courage and inspiration. May it encourage you in whatever medium that inspires you. Most of all I want people to know that we are wired for connection and you are never alone in your journey.

A Bit About Me
I am a Perioperative Nurse, a Mother of one, Photographer and Writer. Aa an absolute Introvert (INFP), it can make me deeply shy. Communication through writing comes much more naturally for me. I write from the heart which often leads to multiple errors and grammatical mistakes. However, we tell beautiful stories when we feel more and think less.
I left school at the age of fifteen. If I had to analyse every error I would never write anything. How I managed a Masters Degree, sometimes surprises, even me. Despite this I have learnt that we are capable of so much more than we give ourselves credit for and more than some people tell us we are capable of.
Travelling is something I genuinely need in my life; it makes me grateful, more empathetic and shifts undesirable negativity from my work. Travel makes me adaptable to change when I often avoid it. My first overseas adventure was to Thailand at the age of 18. I felt like I had missed out on so much by not having seen more of the world earlier. The Cook Islands, was the second destination and that was it I was hooked. The last five years, I have been to fifteen countries with my partner and our son. I do wish I had picked up a camera sooner to document our adventures and learn the fundamentals of photography and editing earlier.
Photography for me has been an essential tool to manage the stress we all encounter at different periods of life. Nursing can be a tough gig sometimes especially the Operating Room it’s fast paced, the hours are long and navigating various personalities and skill mixes requires a great deal of resilience. After speaking with many Photographers from various walks of life. It became obvious people often used it as a tool to balance mental well-being this has included Surgeon’s, Teachers, Paramedic’s, Military Personnel and Police Officers. All of these roles require a great deal of resilience and create high levels of stress.
So finding an outlet like photography is a wonderful coping strategy. Further education on the importance of our mental well-being is required in order to remove the stigma associated with conditions like anxiety, PTSD and Depression.
In a way this is a journey back to finding myself through images, adventures and distant lands. I personally find inspiration for my work from the ocean, mountain ranges and my interactions with people whether they be positive or negative. For me, travel provides the diversity and escape I am constantly seeking right now. My photography is and will always be a work in progress. I try to create images that bring a sense of freedom, hope and emotion. I am forever learning, often failing while finding new ways to develop my skills. It has definitely forced me to overcome some fears, become more comfortable with imperfections and relax a little.
Through Instagram and this website it has enabled me to engage with photographers, creatives and entrepreneurs who have been kind enough to share their individual stories. This is what The Creative Series is all about a place to inspire you and encourage you to follow your passions.
Thank you for being a part of our community.
Much Love 💕
